Choosing
a racking product today can be a very risky decision. There
are hundreds of outlets that will sell you a rack based on
having the best price versus the best product for your application.
Therefore, we have decided to share our knowledge with potential
buyers to better educate the marketplace. Our engineering
department will help determine your rack needs based on your
application. Give us a call today and we will direct you
towards the right manufacturer to help you out. Yes, we are
a manufacturer of structural steel racks and have products
that may work for you. However, if we determine that your
needs would best be served by a product we do not manufacturer,
we will work with you to find the right product. Our philosophy
is that the quality and safety of a product should not be
sacrificed when choosing a rack.
Often
we receive phone calls from potential buyers that want us
to quote a rack for their application and they have no idea
of what type of product they really need. They are receiving
many quotes that are "all over the board" with regards to
price and product type, this should alert "red flags". We
encourage our customers to understand what type of product
is being quoted. There are significant differences in the
construction of a rack. Product design could be everything
from tubing, roll-fomed steel, or structural steel etc. All
of these are "steel" but, vary on their material thicknesses,
which affects their loading capacities. One way of knowing
immediately your quotes are not apples-to-apples is to look
at the weight of the product.
Consider
the following information before you give us a call:
- How
much space are you working with?
- Are
there any obstacles that you have to work around like columns,
etc.?
- What
is your ceiling height? Remember to take off for any ceiling
ductwork, lights or crane in place.
- Do
you have any blueprints of your material flow plan?
- What
is your floor condition of the space?
- How
are you moving materials? Will it change in the near future?
- What
is your material size, weight, and height?
Rack consultations
and quotations are free of charge. If you would like a
more in-depth engineering layout service that includes
drawings and involves us coming on-site, there is a fee.
